5/16/2009 - Conrad's 1st Party!

His brother and sister picked his cupcakes

We put the cupcake in front of Conrad and lit the candle. Right in the first verse of Happy Birthday he reaches forward and tries to grab the flame. Now, hating being told no, he bursts into tears. We tried to calm him and he just cried the rest of the song...well until he got his cupcake

He also got his own cake, in addition to his cupcake

After a quick bath we gave Conrad his presents

Following opening gifts we played with bubbles then went swimming at the local pool...Conrad's FAVORITE thing is swimming!

5/16/2009 - Jada's Gymnastics Meet

Jada had a Gymnastics meet today and she did wonderfully, we are so proud of her!

5/15/2009 - Conrad's 1st Birthday

Conrad's first birthday consisted of a day of swimming, and playing outside...as well as running a few errands. We served watermelon with dinner because it is probably his favorite food. During dinner he got upset so we set him down to walk around, when we heard a horrible scream, so Darek and I go running and his hand is slammed in the door jam, the door is totally closed and his fingers are flat. (Quincy didn't want him in the room so he slammed the door on him, and caught his hand) So I ran him into the ER and instead of cake and ice cream, he got a sucker from the emergency room. Thankfully nothing was broken and he is fine. I guess babies hands aren't totally developed and consist mostly of cartilage, hence his hand flattening and coming out with nothing broken. Poor guy! Guess he wanted to revisit the hospital on the anniversary of his birth or something.

Friday, Conrad turns 1! So in prep for the big day I took some photos of my big guy. Here are some pics of him eating a birthday cake....just for the fun of having the photos. Dang did that kid get messy.

5/3/2009 - Water Park

The tubes in the middle of the tank that you can see are tubes that you go through on 2 of the water rides. One is super slow so you can observe the sharks from the center of the tank. The other is so fast you can't open your eyes to see what is going on.

In order to take pictures of the water park, Darek and I hopped on the water rapids ride and just took shots while on the ride, hoping not to fall out on our way. All the kids have to be 48" and we will take them there. I can't wait to go back.
